Halifax
Regional Managing Partner - Atlantic Canada

Heath Moore

Connection is a significant part of my role—from building meaningful relationships with clients to developing strong bonds with my team, people are at the core of everything I do.

As the Regional Managing Partner for Atlantic Canada, I lead a team of highly skilled and diverse business advisors. We support a wide range of private and public organizations and give back to the communities in which we live.

Prior to this role, I was the Managing Partner for Nova Scotia, overseeing the province’s 11 office locations. As the former National Tax Leader, I was responsible for advising colleagues and clients on tax strategy and planning, and most notably, served as an advocate for our clients concerning government and public policy issues. I worked with teams across Canada to help clients preserve and grow value through sound strategic planning. I enjoy a challenge, especially when I know it’s helping my clients meet their business goals.

Drawing on extensive experience in corporate and personal tax, corporate reorganizations, succession planning, and mergers and acquisitions, I deliver practical business advice. Our team works hard to stay on top of the complex and ever-changing business issues our clients face. It’s our job to anticipate their needs along their journey.

In Dartmouth, NS, I began my career with Grant Thornton LLP in our audit practice. I soon moved to our tax team in Halifax where I spent 20 years working closely with business owners and their families. I had the privilege of serving on our firm’s Partnership Board for six years while also being the Nova Scotia Tax Leader. Throughout my career, I’ve been inspired by countless talented and dedicated professionals and was fortunate to learn from—and grow with—each of them.

Focused on learning and development within my profession, I’m the coordinator and lecturer for CPA Canada’s Advanced Tax Issues for the Owner Managed Business. As a former tutorial leader for CICA, I’ve lectured at the Atlantic School of Chartered Accountants and at CPA Canada's National Conference on Income Tax.

Outside of the business world, I take on challenges that allow me to stay active and support my community. I have a wonderful family with three children that keep me busy. I coach youth basketball and I serve as a board member with the Halifax Chamber of Commerce. You can also find me spending time behind the wheel at the racetrack.
