Whether it relates to developing your succession or estate plan, restructuring your business to improve tax efficiency, or planning for a divestiture, I leverage my in-depth knowledge of the Canadian tax system to identify opportunities to help our clients achieve their goals and maximize their hard-earned value.
Upon joining the Doane Grant Thornton team at the beginning of 2018, our purpose resonated with me, which motivated me to help bring it to life across Western Canada. The experiences I’ve gained from the culture of shared leadership helped me progress and provided me with a new experience to help our clients, colleagues, and communities in the Calgary region thrive.
In my experience, it’s not possible to take a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to tax planning. I place great emphasis on understanding our clients’ goals and objectives, so we can come up with a tailored solution that fits their needs, while also bringing additional opportunities to their attention. I also recognize the value of a collaborative approach, both with my colleagues as well as external advisors, to ensure we can deliver an exceptional client experience.
With over a decade of experience in public practice, I’ve been exposed to a variety of industries, with a more recent focus on real estate, construction, and agriculture. My time as a tax professional has helped me to discover my passion for growth not only for myself but those I connect with. This passion motivates me to continue to learn and grow more about our tax system, allowing me to stay current and keep my clients at the forefront of upcoming tax changes and opportunities.
While I’m discovering new aspects of my job every day, I truly enjoy discovering the enthusiasm our clients have for their business and what drives them to succeed.
Outside of work, I’m an avid mountain biker and enjoy exploring on two wheels whenever I can. Taking the time to slow down and explore has helped me to gain a greater appreciation for the community I live in.
