Making a difference in my clients’ businesses by enabling them to accomplish goals they didn’t imagine they could is particularly rewarding. Finding creative ways to work with clients motivates me every day. As the National Practice Leader for our Consulting practice and the Advisory Partner in our Halifax office, I lead a team of talented and community-devoted professionals that offer their expertise and exceptional client service across Nova Scotia.
For nearly 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of providing strategic consulting services to public and private sector clients, as well as First Nations organizations throughout Atlantic Canada, and across the country. Before joining Grant Thornton in 2008, I led a variety of small- and large-scale transformation initiatives within the Nova Scotia public sector and was also a partner in a leading national talent management firm. Today, I leverage those collective experiences to oversee our firm’s business consulting solutions across the country. Over the past few years, my primary focus has been delivering a range of people, culture and change solutions—everything from culture assessments, recruitment, human resource strategy, total rewards, and outsourced HR support. On any given day, this might see me helping with the implementation of a new performance incentive program, advising on optimal reporting structures or empowering organizations to rethink their service delivery model. Throughout, my aim is to help build a workforce and an organization that is engaged and capable of driving business growth. I also have extensive experience in project management and business process redesign and strategy stemming from the early days of my consulting career.
In addition to holding a master’s degree in Public Administration, I’m Prosci Change Management Certified and have a master’s Certification in Project Management. At Grant Thornton, I’ve helped build a consulting practice focused on delivering practical advice and solutions. This allows us to work with organizations of every size, in every industry, to help clients solve both their simplest challenges as well as their most complex problems.
On a personal level, I’m incredibly passionate about my community involvement. I currently serve as the National President of the Canadian Progress Club and am an active member of our local chapter, Canadian Progress Club Halifax Citadel, a dynamic fellowship of charitable-minded Canadians committed to strengthening our communities through hands-on service and fundraising. I’ve also been a board member of Phoenix Youth Programs since 2016, an organization supporting local youth and families in their journey to thrive. In my spare time, I enjoy relaxing with my family and friends, travelling both the local roads and to exotic international destinations, and lying in the sun on Melmerby Beach.
