A shared focus on employees, culture, and quality customer service
Ramsay’s Auto Sales Limited (Ramsay’s Honda) is a leading Sydney auto dealership providing exceptional customer service since the 1980s. A family business known for its complete inventory, after-sales services, and care for its customers, Ramsay’s Honda has become the first stop for anyone looking for a new or used vehicle. Ready for retirement, the owners decided the time was right to sell.
The owners knew they needed guidance on the process of selling a business and, as a client of Doane Grant Thornton, they requested support from our M&A team. They wanted to identify a buyer dedicated to maintaining the business’ legacy, including prioritizing exceptional customer service standards, as they believed the success of the dealership was rooted in treating customers like family. Another important factor was that Dave Ramsay, one of the owners, wanted to remain in the business longer to facilitate a smooth transition.
Our M&A team helped the owners to take Ramsay’s Honda to market, reached out to potential buyers, assisted with negotiations, and supported due diligence. By assisting the client with this complex process, they were able to focus on the
operations of the business.
Ramsay’s Honda found the right fit in McCarron Auto Group, another family-owned auto group operating in Southwest Nova Scotia. Upholding the same values regarding employees, culture, and quality customer service, McCarron Auto Group is also interested in expanding operations to Cape Breton. By joining McCarron Auto Group, customers across the province will now enjoy Ramsay’s Honda and McCarron‘s signature service.
